The new truck, called Renault Hybrys represents the brand vision of future urban transport. The Renault Hybrys configuration is a 6×2 vehicle powered by a 320 hp DXi 7, a Optidrive automated gearbox and an electric motor + MDS (Motor Drive System).

The model, which will be presented next under the Road Transport Hall of Amsterdam, has keyless start system, electrically operated mode ensures the implementation of the vehicle until the combustion engine takes over.

The electronic steering toggles powertrain optimally these two modes of propulsion (electric and thermal), thus providing a comfortable ride, low noise, with a significantly lower fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions.

The performance of the Renault Hybrys is to recover the vehicle’s kinetic energy during the phases of speed reduction for conversion into electricity and store it in batteries for power.

This energy is available for the electric motor drive stage and feed safety features and comfort, which are usually coupled to the engine, such as address or heating. In electric mode, autonomy is two kilometers.

The protection of the environment, rising fuel prices and dwindling future have led Renault Trucks to increase its offer and propose vehicles whose fuel consumption is shrinking or based on the use of new energies.

The Renault Hybrys marks a new stage on the path towards the integration of hybrid technology within this range of alternatives to diesel and proposals for the brand: biodiesel, natural gas, or completely electric.

Renault Trucks is present in over 100 countries where it sold about 79 thousand vehicles in 2006. Since 2001, part of AB Volvo Group positions itself as the leading manufacturer of commercial vehicles in Europe and second worldwide.
