Medium-Duty Trucks have Better Quality, The standard of medium-duty trucks has greatly enhanced within the last couple of years, but, oddly, client satisfaction has rejected.
That’s according the 2011 U.S. Medium-Duty by J.D. Energy and Affiliates 2011 U.S. Medium-Duty Truck Client Satisfaction Study, launched a week ago.
Owner-recorded problems decreased by 26 % between 2007 and 2011, pointing towards greater quality, the research found. Owner satisfaction, however, dropped 27 index points among trucks which have been operating 13 to 18 several weeks.
The final 5 years have experienced producers make significant enhancements to wheel/tire, stopping system, and cab/body quality, which led to the decline of total problems. Engine problems, though, are another story.
The research also discovered that Class 5 trucks had the greatest quality levels this year. Hino rated the greatest in client satisfaction inside the conventional truck segment, and carried out well in engine satisfaction and overall quality.
Freightliner was probably the most enhanced from 2010, the research noted, because of greater engine satisfaction and price of possession satisfaction.
The research took it’s origin from reactions from 1,037 primary maintainers of 2010 model-year Class 5, 6 and 7 conventional cab medium-duty trucks between June and This summer 2011. It checked out six different facets: engine warranty price of operation cab and the body ride/handling/stopping and transmission.
While Gruber acknowledged that producers are attempting to improve overall quality, the main focus should certainly be on addressing the amount of engine related problems, and meeting the requirements of recent emission and fuel efficiency standards.
