Mascot Truck Parts Mississauga Plant, To deal with the interest in remanufactured components for Class 8 trucks, Meritor is going to be applying numerous enhancements, including growing capacity at its Mississauga, Ont., facility, Mascot Truck Parts. The ability remanufactures steering gears and manual transmissions. Meritor can also be presenting one more differential production line at its Plainfield, Ind. remanufacturing facility.
Meritor joined the remanufacturing business in 1982 at its Florence, Ky., national parts distribution center with drive axle service providers. That operation later moved to some 275,000-sq.-foot facility in Plainfield. At the end of 2007, Meritor acquired Mascot Truck Parts, with production in Canadian facilities along with a 29-location network of distribution centers across US and Canada. In 2008, the organization acquired TruckTechnic, located in Liege, Belgium, which remanufactures disc brake calipers, cam brakes and steering gears.
